On behalf of the Wood kids, a huge thank you to everyone who has shown support, left messages, shared pictures and lit candles for our dad over the last few weeks. And a huge thank you to everyone who joined us last week, whether in person or virtually. We felt your support and I think Dad did too.

In loving memory of David, or Woody, as many knew him by, who sadly passed away on 6th May 2021 aged 56 years.
All are welcome to the Cathedral Service at Chelmsford Cathedral on Thurs 3rd June at 12.30pm.
For those who cannot attend, the service will be streamed live and we will share the link ahead of the day.
There will be a short private Crematorium Service for family following the Cathedral Service, but we'd like to welcome you to continue celebrating our Dad's life at The Courtyard Bar, Chelmsford from 2pm.
We welcome you to donate to the National Suicide Prevention Alliance, a group of charities, businesses and individuals set up by The Samaritans and the Government, to drive action to reduce suicides and support those affect by it.

Finally we want to thank you all for your support, messages, photos and memories - it really means a lot to us.

This man, this face. In this moment my heart was filled with love. Now my heart is broken and I am lost.

Although I got to know Woody professionally in the 90s, rugby became the theme and in particular 6 Nations trips abroad. From the legendary Paris Tour of 02, through the Grand Slam win in Dublin in 03 to numerous Rome trips - what a blast! RIP buddy

Classic Woody - a few moments after this photo was taken (and after a good lunch at The Oval pre the 2015 Test) he decided a “Dettori” style dismount was in order - he landed badly which pretty much broke his ankle - but he styled it out for a few hrs……
