In loving memory of Derek John Jackson who sadly passed away on 17th May 2021, Derek was happily married to Marlis for 59 years after a holiday romance in Jersey where they fell madly in love and went onto have three loving children, Andrew, Carol & Anita. He was proud to welcome 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren into his life, who brought him so much happiness and joy.
Derek’s hobbies throughout his life have been many and varied, they included football, cricket and then he found his passion for sea fishing where he met many good friends over the years. Derek also enjoyed many a time at auctions which lead to him doing bootsales most Saturdays and Sunday mornings. When he was no longer able to participate in these, his new passion became horse racing, Derek part owned four race horses over the years, sadly three turned out to be donkeys haha, but one was his winner Pentland Hills.
Derek will be sadly missed especially by his wife Marlis, their three children Andrew, Carol, Anita, their grandchildren and great grandchildren and everyone else that knew him.
