In loving memory of Jean Mary Booth who sadly passed away on 10th May 2021. Jean's funeral will take place on Wednesday 2nd June at the Reflection Chapel at Bramcote Crematorium. Directions and further information can be found at https://www.bramcotebereavement.org/information/
Jean was born in Long Eaton on 20th March 1939 and family moved to Chilwell when she was 2 and her brother Ron was 4. She left Nether Street Secondary School for Girls in 1954 and went to work at a local shoe shop where she stayed for several years until she went to work at Ericson's, Beeston
She met her husband, Roy, at the Long Eaton Speedway Stadium where we went as a family. They married in 1971 and had a very happy life with both of them training to nurse disabled people.
During her working life they moved around the country to different hospitals finally retiring in 1999 in Peterborough. She and Roy then retired to Oakham where she nursed Roy at home after a stroke until he passed away in 2011
Jean then moved to Long Eaton to be closer to her family.
Jean will be greatly missed by her brother Ron and family, her sister Valerie and family and sister-in-law Sheila and family.
We are asking for donations to the Stroke Association either online or at the service rather than floral tributes.
