In loving memory of Linda Maltman (nee Radcliffe) who sadly passed away on 12th May 2021. She was the love of my life. My only one. My soul mate.

She was born an grew up in Lancashire, travelling to university in Nottingham where we met and fell in love 45 years ago. With the support of her parents Fred & Mary we married in October 1978. Her sister Kate and baby Carole were bridesmaids.

Shortly we were blessed with two sons of whom we were (and still are) very proud. In turn they both have strong supportive partners who Linda and I love as our own. Kelly also bringing her son, Charlie. Linda and I were so proud when our first granddaughter Olivia was born.

Linda fought bravely against her cancer for over 3 years, in the end it became too much for her to take and very quickly deteriorated. Linda died peacefully in Nottingham City Hospital surrounded by her family. We are truly grateful to the staff there and especially the palliative care team who supported us and Linda in her last days.

You were my work moral compass for what was right and true, your intelligence far exceeded your role, and when we met up outside work, you always made us laugh at life. I hope your light keeps shining through you husband and sons.

I also worked with Linda at HMRC and we discovered we had a lovely mutual friend Karen. We’ve enjoyed some fabby early door meet ups when we never stopped laughing. Like all of the comments made, family was everything to Linda and she was happy to see her boys settled and keen to improve Terry's cooking skills. But her greatest gift of love and kindness will live on through her quilting legacies. Linda was so much more - she was self- effacing, pragmatic and highly talented. Listening to all that Linda had achieved and the impact that she had on all who had come into contact with her at her celebration of life service, Linda would have been extremely proud to be recognised with such immense love. She will not be forgotten.

had some lovely girlie nights out

Linda looked after me as my PA at HMRC for years. But much more important was her devotion to her family and friends. And her hidden, to many, quilting skills. Gone too soon.

Linda founded Quarry Quilters and all of us in the group will greatly miss her smile and welcoming personality. Linda's produced many beautiful quilts and wall hangings which I hope will be a lasting legacy for her family to treasure. She was always happy to pass her skills with a needle onto others - even though I know I'll never be able to match them!

Linda became a good friend in recent years and I will miss our long chats and trips to local exhibitions.
Thinking of all the family, Kate Barber

I worked with Linda at HMRC in the few years before she retired. She often talked of her 2 sons whom she was very proud of. I will remember the laughs we had on those long work train journeys. Rest in peace Linda xx

I met Linda at work in HMRC, on a course for women. We've been friends ever since! My memories of Linda? Always laughing with a funny story, keen to hear about everyone else's lives. Linda talked about her family all the time & it was obvious, by the way her face lit up, how much she loved them & was really proud of them all. She made beautiful quilts for both my boys which I'll treasure. I'll miss her smile, brilliant humour, kindness, love & friendship. Xx
