God Bless you Bridie no one has ever been able to make soda bread like you did. You are finally with your beloved Dermot. I bet you are having a good old chat catching up with those that have passed before you.

My very personal memory of Bridie was a chat last year (2020) around Easter time (and during the first period of lockdown) when I checked on Bridie one evening just before leaving the home and she told me how much she missed going to mass. We often spoke of St Winefride's Church, a place we could both link memories to, as she described it as her family church and both my children received their first communion there. Bridie then surprised me by inviting me to say the Lord's Prayer with her. Having grown up in Austria I had to confess that I could only say it in German, however, we proceeded to say the Lord's Prayer together in our own individual languages, but in sync of each verse. At the end Bridie said "I don't know what you just said but it sounded about right"! I will never forget the laughter together. Thank you Bridie, I am honoured to have known you and you have touched my heart. Kerstin x

Bridie is sadly missed at the home where she has made many friends. Bridie's kind, thankful and patient personality made it a humbling experience being able to look after her whilst living with us. We are sad of the loss of Bridie, whom many of the team referred to as our 'care home nana' and will always treasure those warm smiles and special hugs we had together. Rest in Peace Bridie.
