Funeral Director
In loving memory of Matilda "Anne" Calow, who fell asleep for the last time in the arms of her eldest son, Adam, at their family home on 19th April 2021. She leaves behind her husband, Glen, who she'd been married to for 53 years.
Anne was a truly wonderful person. Kind, loyal, selfless and generous. She never ran out of conversation and could find out the life story of a stranger before the bus even arrived.
One of thirteen siblings, she lived for family; a value which she has encouraged in her own children. Anne was a loving and devoted Mother to her three Sons and Daughter: Adam, Neil, Mark and Niki. She also delighted in her role as Nanny to her six Grandchildren, whom she considered a true gift: Her legacy on this Earth.
Whilst Anne enjoyed many pastimes, from playing cards to writing poetry, the simplest pleasures of all she took from all around her. The flowers and trees, to the sounds of the birds. She loved nature and always felt content being able to sit with the sun on her face and simply watch the world go by. She adored the water and was always happiest by a lake or sea - never missing the opportunity for a boat trip!
Anne was a beautiful soul and will be truly missed by all of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Although mum loved flowers, she always felt that the money spent on funeral flowers could do more good helping others. So we are asking those who wish to, to contribute to a charity that mum held dear to her heart - the RNLI Lifeboats.
Thank you to all those who have held mum and those she has left behind, in your thoughts. Your kind words and memories have brought us comfort at this sad time.
We love you mum.
Sleep well xx
