It is with such great sadness & heartache that we make known the passing of Malcolm Edward Hughes, who died at home on Saturday 17th April, unexpectedly.

He was an eternally dedicated husband, a gentle & loving father & grandfather, as well as a treasured friend. A man who was loved by so many & who will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him & share in his company.
He will be remembered for so many reasons, not least for his docile nature & all-round thoughtfulness. Known to be the one sat quietly in the background, watching the merriment, whilst squirreling away to ensure it kept going.

We are left with our memories & the knowledge that he and his wife Joy are now reunited & he’s not alone any more. We will miss you more than you know. We love you so dearly, you will stay with us in our hearts always.

A small funeral service is to be held on 5th May 09:45 at Bramcote crematorium. The family will be leaving Grenville Drive at 09:15. So if you would like to pay your respects you are more than welcome to line the street, at a covid-safe social distance.

Due to Malcolm’s own wishes & covid restrictions it will be a small affair, all attendees have been contacted & confirmed. Any donation to Dementia UK in lieu of flowers would be so welcome, should you wish to do so in his name

We were so sad to hear of Uncle Malcolm’s passing and would like to send all the family our thoughts and prayers. I know he will be happy with Auntie Joy, enjoying a ‘cob’ or two and a good old jive, dancing the night away!!!

A massive part of my younger childhood. Mr Hughes you were the giver of day trips out for me as my family didn't have a vehicle in those days. You drove a VW and caravanette. I remember enjoying a brown bread and stork SB slice sat watching the planes take off near the airport. A Simple thing that I remember warmly. Growing up would not have been the same without you.
I have very happy memories of you malcolm Now you are reunited with Joy xx
