In loving memory of David George Mitchell, who sadly passed away on 10th April 2021.

He was a loving father, husband, son, brother and dear friend to so many.

Dave had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and never failed to brighten up a room with his warm personality and infectious chuckle. He was an incredibly talented man, full of wisdom and charm, and the love he had for his family and friends was immense.

Dave had an incredibly successful career with Rushcliffe Borough Council for over 30 years. He was highly respected by Councillors and colleagues but remembered most for his warmness and friendship at every level.

He was, without a doubt, the best dad anyone could wish for and we can’t even begin to imagine our life without him. There are no words to describe how much we will miss him, his thoughtful advice and his terrible dad jokes.

We love you, dad.

In remembrance of David's life, we ask that any charitable donations be made to Macmillan Cancer Support as a thank you for the love and compassion that they showed our family when we needed it most.

Happy birthday Dave - I’m sure you would have celebrated in style! You’ve left behind an unfillable void - your wise words, sunny disposition, readiness to laugh and the twinkle in your eye - but also lots of happy memories. Thinking of your family at this really tough time, Leanne x

Couldn’t believe it when I heard the bad news, and still can’t. I knew Dave for 20 years and he was always supportive and kind - even when we were profoundly disagreeing, which was often!! (He was usually right of course). I will miss him, I will always be grateful for his presence in my life.

In loving memory of a wonderful dad, second dad, friend. From coining the ‘double trouble’ nickname, listening to endless mcfly karaoke’s, taking us to centre parcs, taking us to school, Sunday dinners with no potatoes, thoroughly supporting and encouraging our homemade music videos and Friday night makeovers, the worst (best) dad jokes, waiting for quite literally HOURS for us to get changed at Elliott Durham (and never being cross about it), we have so many wonderful memories to look back on. You were such a huge part of my life growing up. A truly wonderful man who will always hold a place in my heart. Sending you all my love Elaine, Becky & Matt, Sophie xxx

Nothing but good memories and laughter, thank you Dave.
The days and weeks ahead will be difficult for us all. I am sure each and everyone of us will be asking what would Dave say or do? And getting a positive encouraging answer.
With us always , have a great snooze, rest easy.
