I lost my dad at the age of 6, but have always been blessed to have amazing friends around me throughout my life. Your son Kris is like a brother to me, after 25 years of friendship. You and Marian have been like parents to me and always welcomed me into your home, all of my best memories involve you guys other the years. There's not any other people on this planet I've consumed as much wine with than you guys! We certainly put the bar staff to work over the years, I always felt grateful knowing you and catching up with you guys. Lots of happy, hilarious memories over the years.
Me and you being humorously terrified at the drag waiters serving us in Blackpool in 1999. When Kris was performing at Funny Girl, they went from delicate, dainty bar staff, softly speaking to us in feminine voices, to suddenly bellowing "Drinking up time please" in masciline tones after the show was over! It always makes me smile!
You having a few too many on Christmas day 2005 singing "I can't get no, satisfaction!" and dancing in ways which would make us laugh. It went on and on and on!
Those early mornings I'd grab breakfast at your house, while you were reading the newspaper and watching the racing! You were a typical, great dad, in all the right ways. A man of few words, but when you did say something, I always listened, then usually laughed immediately afterwards! Geeza, fella!
Thank you for making me part of your beautiful family over the years, it meant more to me than you'll ever know. I promise to look out for your family whenever they need anything. The point of life, arguably is to keep your good qualities going, pass them down to the next generation. With Kris and Mark and all of your Grandchildren, you can now rest easy knowing the future is in good hands
Lots of love to you Colin. x
