In loving memory of Peter ‘Papa’ Sweeney who sadly passed away on 27th March 2021. Papa was born in Springburn, Glasgow in December 1933, but the family moved to the Gorbals when he was a baby and thereafter he was always proud to be a Gorbals ‘bhoy’. Married to Barbara in December 1956 their love never diminished during 65 years of marriage. Children Linda and Peter, grandchildren Jennifer, Richard and Natalie and great grandchildren Oliver and Olivia followed during those 65 years. Sadly, Linda got her Angel’s wings in January 2008 and she will be waiting for her beloved Dad to join her in heaven. He will be missed. Rest in peace Papa 🙏💚😇

Launch of the 40th anniversary book in October 1997, recalling that great day ‘Oh Hampden in the sun...Celtic 7 Rangers 1’. It was also the day Linda was born - 19/10/57 and Papa had shared his happy memories of that great day with the book author.

Lunch at The Jeannie with some people we will never forget. Was always great to get together with Uncle Peter and Auntie Babs and the rest of the Jordans. Love, Peter and Ellen in Texas.
