In loving memory of Marian Mavis Bossons who sadly passed away on 30th March 2021. Marian was born on Kirklington Road in 1925 and was a lifelong resident of Rainworth, until her illness 3 years ago. Marian was also a lifelong member of the Rainworth Methodist Chapel, where she supported the Chapel Choir, The Young Wives, The Women's Own and the Saturday Coffee Mornings amongst many other fund raising ventures. Marian was also a volunteer at the Rainworth Pensioners Luncheon Club. In 1942 Marian joined the Women's Land Army at the age of 17 and was very proud of her time in the service and loved sharing her stories. In 1946 Marian was married to her loving husband Harold and they enjoyed a very happy family life with their children Gordon, Cheryl, Denise, Trevor and Elaine. Marian also found time to work as a cleaner at Python Hill School and support her elderly neighbours. The family were devastated in 1982 when youngest daughter Elaine was taken too soon at the age of 18 following a road accident. Sadly, Harold was also taken too soon in 1985 at the age of 59. Marian bravely soldiered on with the support of family and friends and was a much loved member of the community. As well as her children and their partners, Marian also leaves 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and will be very sadly missed by family and friends, including her lovely carers who became very fond of her. The family are very sad that the funeral is limited to 30 mourners due to the covid restrictions and would like to thank everyone for their kind messages of sympathy.
Marian, you had so much to be proud of and we are all so proud of you. We will miss you always and love you forever. xxxxxxx
