In loving memory of Peggy, who sadly passed away on 14th March 2021 aged 91 years.
Peggy was a dearly loved wife, mother and grandma who will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
She will always be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, and for her beautiful smile, which lifted the spirits of all those around her.
Peggy grew up in Rainham, Kent, living in the Chocolate Box in the high street with her mother, father and older sister Sybil. As a young woman she moved to London, where she sewed and embroidered hand stitched garments in the department stores Marshall and Snelgrove, and Bourne and Hollingsworth in Oxford Street.
It was while working in London that Peggy met her friend and future bridesmaid Olive.
Peggy later returned to Rainham and worked locally, at the same time helping to care for her mother.
While serving at the Chocolate Box, Peggy met her future husband Syd. They were married in 1954 at Aylesford Church and went on to have a long and happy marriage of 67 years.
They lived in Rainham for several years before moving to Upchurch in 1961, where Peggy developed a passion for gardening with her beloved Syd. She also found that an old school friend Beryl was living close by, who once again became a good friend.
In later years Peggy and Syd moved to a bungalow in Hartlip. Peggy was sadly diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2015.
Peggy had three daughters and six grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, always putting others before herself.
In memory of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved.
