Dad - You said that you didn't think you had done enough with your life; well you were wrong! You climbed those massive mountains and got down the other side ready for the next challenge. Stubborn, determined and successful. I know you hid your true self from us but you're not getting away with that when I next see you! I feel you are with mum and are healing together for your next journey. You are missed. Watch over us all and be at peace. P.S New door looks great xx

I met Eric some 20 years ago when his daughter and I became a couple. It was a bit of a shaky start as I was not quite divorced. Things did get better, and in time I became his surrogate son-in-law, and was able to help with solving some of his technology problems: particularly laptops, phones and more recently door bells. We shared a love of getting these inanimate objects to do our bidding…
We also shared a love of growing things, especially those we could eat, and now he is no longer with us, I might stand a chance of growing more tomatoes than he did. Some good did come out of that blasted greenhouse.
Eric was always stoic and never complained about the pain we now know he suffered. I hope that I can follow his example when the time comes.
Goodbye my friend, I shall remember you with great fondness

Roger
