In loving memory of Joyce Lilian Tomlin who sadly passed away on 17th February 2021
Joyce Tomlin, (Formerly Musson) was born on 3rd April 1930 and lived in Arnold for all her life. She was born in Daybrook and went to the Daybrook Infants and Church Drive Schools. Joyce was one of eight children and lived in a small terrace house in Portland Street.
During her working life she worked for Meridian, Horsley's, Ericsons and Woolworths
Joyce was married in 1952 to Jack Tomlin, they had four Children, Ian, Neil, Jackie and Joanne.
Joyce was a lovely lady with a smashing sense of humour and along with her twin sister Doreen was well known in Arnold.
Joyce loved to dance and would spend every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Liberal Club and Balfour club enjoying Ballroom Dancing with her sister and her friends.
Joyce has eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, who all adored their Nana, she loved spending time with them and she was considered to be very special to them.
During Joyce's later years she suffered from Alzheimers. although her life was severely affected by the disease she still loved socialising and spending time at the Sybil Levyn Day Centre and the Calverton Day Centre. Eventually Joyce needed extra care and she moved to The Manor Residential home in Arnold in July of 2020. She loved her time in the home, socialising with the other residents and enjoying friendly banter with the wonderful staff at the home.
Joyce was a wonderful wife and mother who ensured that the home was a very special place. Our memories of spending time with her and our father Jack will be cherished forever.
