‘To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die’ Thomas Campbell
In loving memory of Jean Preston, who sadly passed away on 27th January 2021, aged 91 years.
Jean, and husband Harry, married in 1950. They shared a happy and loving marriage for twenty-nine years before Harry died suddenly in 1979, leaving Jean broken-hearted.
Jean leaves two well-loved sisters, Barbara and Sheila who ‘feel proud to have had her as a sister’ having shared common interests over the many years together, including dancing, bowls, Bridge and a love of watching sport. Nieces, Lesley, Jackie, Fiona, Helen and nephew Andrew, remember their Aunty Jean as a ‘fun and charismatic person’, ‘warm, open and welcoming-an amazing lady.’
Mother to three children, Heather, Paul and Debbie - mum will remain in our hearts forever. We thank-you mum for your care, teaching, selfless acts of love and for many treasured memories.
Colin and David, sons-in-law and Sheila daughter-in-law, Jean respected them all, enjoyed seeing them whenever she could and was most thankful for all they did.
To Jody (and Amanda), Tom (and Emma), Lauren (and Gaz,) Tim, Fiona, Rosie and ‘number seven’ their Nan was ‘the most incredible Nan, with the most amazing sense of humour’. Each hold many stories of fun days and special events shared-’we will all smile about our memories together’.
Riley, Oliver and Ronnie, were the most special Great-grandchildren to ‘Big Nan’ and she delighted in them and in the knowledge her beautiful family was growing.
Jean, Jeanie or ‘Mother Goose’ touched the lives of many whether through being neighbours-‘they had some brilliant times together’, work-‘The world is an emptier place without her but what a legacy she has left in you all’, hobbies, Square and Round dancing, ‘she made everyone she met feel like they had known her for years’ and ‘will be sadly missed by so many… ‘There will never be another like her’.
Now at peace and reunited with Harry, family and friends.
