In grateful memory of Marion Joy Cox

4th September 1936 - 5th February 2021

An unique and deeply loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. A highly respected headmistress of Hollington Preparatory School. Joy by name, joyful by nature. None like her before, nor shall ever be, never forgotten.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 25th February at 2:30PM in the church of St Nicholas, Pluckley. Due to COVID restrictions the service is by invitation only.

Some people experienced problems watching the service live, but Joy's funeral service was recorded and is available to watch now by clicking the following link:

It would delight Joy if anyone wishing to offer a donation could do so for the "Barnabas Fund’’, a charity she supported. Donations may be made via this webpage or c/o TW Fuggle & Son Funeral Directors, 20 Ashford Road, Tenterden TN30 6QU

Thank you everyone for your prayers, cards, letters and generous donations. Joy was a self-effacing person who would have been surprised by the warm praise now being heaped upon her. However we know that the comments are no more than she deserved. What a lucky man I have been to woo and win such a wonderful wife and spend 62 years in her company!

It was so lovely to have met Joy. I have known Phillip for a while as he visited my late Husband Tony. They both had fond memories of the Grammar School as Tony was a pupil at the Grammer School (1940s ) and of course Phillip became the Headmaster many years after Tony left.
Joy visited me here once, but we did speak on the phone several times and I enjoyed the exchange of the home made cards we sent to one another.
My blessings to you Phillip and to all your family.
