Dad - John Brett, meant a lot to a lot of different people in lots of different ways.
He spent time when he was younger working on farms, later working at garages serving fuel and vehicle mechanics. Dad also loved his animals, having horses, dogs, cats and even a goose which came with a house.
Not only was Dad the best Dad you could ask for - he adored his Grandchildren and his Sister and Brother always had a special place in his heart.
All I can say is Dad we really miss you, and wish you sweet dreams and you we will hold you dear in our hearts forever.
I was shown the following poem by Jamie Anderson, which is how I am feeling.
Grief, I've learned, is really just love.
It's all the love you want to give, but cannot.
All that unspent love gathers up in the corners
of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in the
hollow part of your chest.
Grief is just love with no place to go.
Love you always.
