In loving memory of my wonderful mum Christine Margaret Garrard (Chris) who sadly passed away on 25th January 2021.
Chris met my dad Bob, in 1950 and they married in 1953.
Mum gave birth to me in 1962.
Chris was one of 15 children.
Chris was widowed in 1996 when her beloved husbabd Bob sadly passed away
Chris was a loving nan to her 4 grandchildren, and greatgrandson Max.
Chris was a very caring and loving person who genuinely touched the hearts of so many people.
Chris is now reunited with her adoring husband Bob.
I miss you so much mum,
I love you.
You will always be in my heart.
God Bless.

Instead of flowers can I Please ask you to donate generously to the Basis charity via the link on this obituary page, as they gave mum so much joy and happiness in her later life, and I know that would make mum so happy.
Thanks,
Rob. xx

Update Sunday 14th March (Mothers day)

Mums funeral is tomorrow and today is Mother’s Day so I am missing her terribly, and today seemed the right time to thank everyone who has very kindly donated to BASIS in my mums memory, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Basis were amazing to mum, and to them every penny counts. To reach £1500 is absolutely amazing. I had hoped to get £500, your very kind comments have been heartwarming and comforting to myself, Julie and our family too. Made me realise how much she was loved.
TO RAISE THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR BASIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MY WONDERFUL MUM WOULD HAVE WANTED IN HER MEMORY. YOU HAVE ALL BEEN SO GENEROUS.
Thank you, not just from me, but from mum too.
God Bless you all.
xx❤️

Will never forget your immense kindness 32 years ago when as very young men you and Bob snr took us in and treated us as one of your own
Nothing was to much trouble .
Our time in Benfleet was only made possible by you both.
I’ve returned many times over the years on my own and later with my family and received the same warm welcome and hospitality every time.
You really were a very special lady and one l loved dearly
I know Bob Snr will be waiting so please say hello from me, it was an incredible honour to have known you both.
God Bless Chris
Love to Bob and family

  • John thank you for your very kind words. Mum and dad loved having you stay with them, their Scouse sons !! Mum and dad loved you as one of their own, and were so proud when you had your own family and continued to come down to visit. I promise Julie and I will be up to see you all as soon as this lockdown is over. Mum and dad will be keeping a watchful eye over us all now. God bless you and the family John. 🙏🙏🙏❤️

We can remember when Chris and Bob moved across the road to us many years ago.
Chris and Bob would always find time for a chat.
Our New Years Eve's were always a big Bang of pots and pans.
We will remember the last one,2020, and we still made a Big Bang out in the street.
Thank you for being a lovely neighbour to us all, will miss seeing you around .
God bless and rest in Peace.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Rob, Julie, the boys and all the family.

  • Thanks to you all, very generous of you, and mum would have been so thrilled raising this much money. You were all amazing neighbours to her throughout the years, some longer than others but you are all fantastic neighbours, and I could not ask for better. Mum was so thrilled to be able to get out in the street ion New Year’s Eve 2020 to see you all. She is now with my dad, who did not have long enough to enjoy our little neighbourly community as he was taken too soon. God bless you all.
