Vera Ella Woodrow (22 May 1945 - 3 Feb 2021)
In loving memory of Vera Ella Woodrow who sadly passed away on 3rd February 2021. She was born 22 May 1945 in Illogan, Cornwall to Stanley and Ella Kempthorne.
Vera was one of five brothers, and four sisters. After education at Illogan and Pool School, Vera worked at Bridge Stores near Portreath. Her growing passions at that time included dancing and socializing, at Tabbs Arcade and The Flamingo Club. It was while exploring these passions Vera met Alan Desmond Woodrow, whom would become her life long friend and love.
Alan and Vera would go on to Marry at Paynters Lane End Chapel on March 4th 1967 both at the age of 20.
Two children were brought into this loving relationship, Sarah and Peter adding sugar and spice to Alan and Vera's ever developing relationship. When The children were old enough to amuse themselves, the couple yet again reignited their passion for rock and roll, dusted off their dancing shoes and got those hips moving at Camborne Conservative Club on a weekly basis.
Vera would extend her love of dancing to include line dancing with her friend Carol.
Travel was never far from Vera's mind and coach trips were a big part of later life. Alan and Vera's favourite destinations included Scotland and Blackpool with one especially fond memory being a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords, on a luxury cruise ship.
Battling Dementia marked the final years of a life lived fully for Vera. But as she did in the rest of her life, this was met mainly with a smile, all be it now and again she would point out that she was busy running around after Alan.
In Vera's final three years she was cared for lovingly by the team at Trewidden Residential Home in St.Ives. After three years of care and contentment at Trewidden, Vera was to contract Covid-19 and quickly fall ill.
Vera is survived by Her Husband Alan, and their two children Sarah, Peter, Son In-Law Paul, and Grandchildren Nathan, Ashley, and Kieran.
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend.
We love you, and your smile and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
Alan would like to especially thank the Team at Trewidden for their care, patience, and understanding for both of them over the last few years.
