It is with great sadness that we inform you that our lovely Mum, Nan and Great Grand Mother, Joyce Edith May Spencer sadly passed away on Sunday 24th January 2021.

Her family and friends who were lucky to know her will remember Joyce as being one of life’s characters. She endured many challenges throughout her life but always found the strength to battle on.

In memory of Joyce and following her wishes, we would like to request that any kind donations be given to the East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity. Without their help she would not have been lucky enough to live and enjoy her latter years of life after being involved in a serious road traffic accident.

Her funeral will be at Basildon Crematorium on the 12th March 2021 11.00am. Unfortunately, we are currently limited to numbers for the funeral service due to Covid-19.

Joyce will be taking her final journey from home and passing the places she always enjoyed during her many years living on Canvey, especially “The Bingo Hall”.

Joyce took every opportunity to ensure she lived a full and active life and would not let anything hold her back!

We will all miss her dearly,

My dear sister Joyce, so many fond and happy memories - my holidays with Joyce and George to Butlins, going by motorbike and sidecar. Christmas with our mum, Joyce, Norman, Margaret and me. Joyce was like a second mum to Margaret and me in our young days. Joyce standing on the touch line watching Norman, Toni and me playing football. The bungalow in Mornington Road, next door to the Mara family, always fun and games in the back garden. George and Roy Mara playing cards. After getting married Joyce still used to come home to dinner with us, now and again, because she loved our mum's 'workhouse pie'. In recent years Pat and I taking Joyce to the annual Distaff Christmas Social.
