To Auntie Margaret, Penelope and David, thinking of you all at this difficult time. Uncle Rod was my favourite Uncle as well as being at being a God Parent. I know how much my mum Bea loved Rod and enjoyed his company as did I. He was a lovely man and he brought me many happy memories during my childhood

I remember much fun and laughter in the company of Rod, it usually involved boats of some sort! I remember being asked by Rod to go to the Sailing Club to act as his 'crew'. He told me to get in this small wooden, unstable dinghy. I immediately fell flat on my stomach in the bottom of the boat, creased up with laughter! We laughed and laughed!!
Another time Rod was asked to fill in for a friend on a canal boat holiday. Within minutes Rod had twisted his ankle and had to be 'ministered' to by Joan, the other girl on the trip. He was useless in working the locks etc because of his 'bad' ankle! I think one of his shoes ended up in the water too. . . . ! He was great fun, good company and a true friend.
