I had the pleasure to spend some time with Rob and we had some chats about this and that. He was a genuinly lovely man kind thoughtful and always a pleasure to talk to.

Funeral Director
Robert Stammers, 41, of Chelmsford, Essex, passed away on June 19, 2015.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on July 14, 2015 at Chelmsford Crematorium. Reverend Lee Batson of St. Andrew's Church, Boreham will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services. Viewing will be held on July 10 (9am-5pm); July 11 (9am-12pm) and July 13 (9am-5pm), 2015 at Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services, 348 Baddow Road, Chelmsford, CM2 9RA. There will be a light reception at Stella's house following the funeral service on July 14, 2015 - everybody is welcome to attend.
Robert was born in Basildon, Essex on July 17, 1973. He was the second child of Robert and Stella Stammers. He attended Fryerns Comprehensive School in Basildon from 1984 to 1989. After leaving school, Robert excelled in the family painting and decorating business, which was his profession for more than 20 years. He loved playing and watching sports, especially football - it brought him great joy over the years to see his beloved Arsenal winning, as well as the England Rugby and Cricket teams. He also had an astounding knowledge of tennis, boxing and a myriad of other sports. Robert had a keen interest in current affairs locally, nationally and internationally. He was a mine of information and very much enjoyed discussing affairs of the day. Robert was widely known as a very kind and thoughtful person with a caring and generous spirit. His family are comforted by the many accounts of the help and support he gave to others in difficult circumstances. He and his beloved daughter Jessie loved each other dearly and it was a joy to see them always laughing, smiling and having fun together.
Robert is survived by his daughter Jessie; his father and mother Robert and Stella; his sister Jill; 3 brothers, Mark, David and Andrew; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Helping Hands Essex, 7 Brockley Road, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 6HQ and WDP, 54 New Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1NE (additional memorial donation details are available on Robert's Funeral Zone page). The family of Robert Stammers wishes to thank Helping Hands Essex, WDP, One Housing Group, St. Andrew's Church and the many other organisations that touched Robert's life.

I honestly don't know we're to start about rob, he was a lovely, king, caring man and a fantastic Uncle and father to me and of course Jessie, he always had time to listen and talk and if I ever needed to talk to him he would take me down to Costa Coffee for a coffee and talk to me , I still remember what his favourite was, we have lots of great and treasured memories of Rob, for example, when we went to frinton beach and we played football and made sandcastles for hours and I honestly had never seen him happier, when me, Grandad Bob and Rob went to pitch and Putt we had so much fun and a great time and again he was full of happiness and that's how we our going to remember him, I love you Uncle Rob and I will never forget you ??❤️❤️???

Rob was such a lovely caring man, kind and considerate, he was always ready to help others. His love for his daughter shone through. Everyone's lives will be a little darker for his passing but I can only pray he is now at Peace. With love - chris

I am so sad to hear about Rob, we were friends at Fryerns and I have lots of fond memories of him during those school years. We went on a school day trip to France in a minibus once, there were only 6 of us in total that went. Rob, Steve, Lisa, Karren, Tracey and myself. I have no idea why only 6 of us went but it was a good day out to a park in St. Omer and a hypermarket in Calais ...very random but we had a laugh on that trip. My sincere condolences to all of Rob's family and friends , I will remember him fondly. R.I.P Rob xxx

Such a beautiful message Debbie, thank you. And a lovely memory of the school trip as well - I can just picture the hypermarket, with the teacher telling you all to converse in French!
