In loving memory of our wonderful, lovely, kind, gentle Dad, Grandad, Nonno, Uncle & popular friend of many, Ray Gregg. Who sadly passed away at home with Julie & Helen by his side on 27th January 2021 aged 94.

Our family would be most grateful if you would kindly consider a donation to Nottinghamshire Hospice in lieu of floral tributes.
Their exceptional, compassionate carers ensured he could stay at home through the latter part of his illness.

Due to the limit of only 30 mourners present at the funeral, you may wish to watch the live webcast of Ray's funeral, please see details below:

John Flood donated £30 in memory of Ray

I first met Ray when he got the TO job at Nottingham at the start of the 1980’s when I was a young 17 year old telecoms trainee on the railway. He was really friendly and helpful, and over the next 10 years before his retirement he not only taught me so much work wise, but also had so many stories of old days that I found fascinating. Genuinely nobody had a bad word to say about him at work. I kept in touch with him regularly after his retirement and met up on the old boys nights out and Christmas get togethers we had, He was on good form at the last railway get together he made in July 2019 and he got to see the railway photo albums I made up going back to before I started, some of which he appeared in. I last spoke to him on Christmas Eve when he wasn’t so good, but when I spoke to him 4 weeks earlier we had a really good chat and he remembered so much, telling me about his days as a signaller at Burton before he joined the S&T department. A true gent who will be sadly missed.
