  • Mum often spoke of those years and what a great time you had together. Your friendship meant a lot to her. Jane

When I left school at 14 Audrey managed to get me a job in Fleet Street. I then went on to be her and Charles' bridesmaid when they married.

Over the years we have attended many family gatherings - there were a lot of us! In this way we all kept in touch, because we never lived near to one another.

I remember Audrey always making lovely cakes when she was younger - she was a good cook.

Over the years we had our children and moved further away from each other, but as we got older we always kept in touch. I will miss Audrey. We had nice weekly chats on the phone.

Rest in peace Audrey. I hope you're with Charles now.

As a childhood friend of Jane’s, I remember many happy days spent with Audrey, Charles and Jane at their home in Kent and on holiday with them on the south coast. Audrey was a very caring and loving Mum and will be sadly missed by Jane and Caroline. With Love from Sally

  • Thanks for your lovely comments Sally, yes you certainly would have remembered mum in her youth, late thirties to be precise. We had some good times down in Eastbourne eh?
