In loving memory of Barrie Michael Hack who sadly passed away on 19th January 2021, at the age of 80.
Barrie was born to Herbert and Doris Hack in March 1940. He lived on Surgey’s Lane in Arnold along with his older (late) Brother Brian and his younger Brother Christopher.
He was a member of the Boys’ Brigade, attended Redhill School and achieved his five-year apprenticeship in 1961. In 1962 his job took him to South Georgia where he worked on the Scientific Base.
In October 1963 he married, and Mr and Mrs Hack spent 57 years of happy married life in Hucknall, Kimberley and eventually Rainworth. They had a daughter in 1969 and were blessed with two grandsons.
Barrie was a kind, humorous and loving man – we will say good bye to him on Monday 22nd February - he will be greatly missed...
Barrie died with COVID-19 however, he had suffered for many years with Asbestosis. All donations to the British Lung Foundation will be gratefully received.

Your famous “ six note “ whistle , Legendary still to this day
I’ve worked with you on various contacts both home and away since 1983 . The stories you told reflects a very interesting working life , we all used to enjoy your banter
Great memories of working away and having to socialise in the evenings !!!
Never ever finding the pub with the perfect pint , but it wasn’t for the lack of trying
