In loving memory of Raymond Lambe who sadly passed away on 25th January 2021.
Ray, a loving husband, dad and granddad was born on 13th April 1945.
He was the middle brother of Brian (Larry) and Mick. He had a tough upbringing in Wymering, and did any odd job he could to earn some money. He was very protective of his brothers, and this carried on throughout his life with his children and grandchildren.
Ray married Caroline in 1972, and two children followed - Darren in 1973 and Nicola in 1975. He was very proud of his children, and was a loving granddad to his grandchildren, Jaydee, Molly, Daniel, Daisy, Amelia and Tommy.
He worked hard all his life as a roofer, out early in the morning whatever the weather. He was well respected at his job amongst his peers and never short of work.
He always used to enjoy a good drink - just ask Caroline, Darren or Nicky about the time he got drunk on sangria in 1984 in the South of France and started singing a disco classic in the pouring rain!
Caroline and Ray enjoyed many holidays all over the world, although trouble did seem to follow them about. You'd think holidays involving bombings, riots and hurricanes would put you off travelling, but not them!
India was Rays favourite holiday destination, and always wanted to go back there.
Sadly, Rays health started to decline 20 years ago. He was diagnosed with diabetes after returning from a holiday where he felt unwell, then COPD and finally Alzheimers.
