Uncle Barry what a lovely man. Always so happy, humble and interested in everything that we were involved in. I loved our conversations on football, cricket, motorbikes, gardening and so many other things. I remember cycling over as teenagers and you being impressed we'd made it from Braintree. You taught us how to be kind and gentle. RIP Uncle Barry

Our Grandad

Our Grandad was the type of Grandad that some people can only ever dream they had. But we were lucky enough to call ours. He was strong, kind, great at giving you a bear hug and most importantly funny! He also rode a motorbike near enough his whole adult life and to me that made him just the coolest Grandad possible.

Our Grandad could have you in fits of laughter purely from him laughing at himself. He would crack up at one of his own jokes and even if you weren’t laughing at the joke itself, you would suddenly be in fits of giggles because his laugh was so infectious you just couldn’t help it.

He would always ask for “little bit of everything” when having desert, Our lovely Granny would tut at him and reluctantly give him a little bit of everything, he’d then give you a cheeky wink to let you know “if you don’t ask, you don’t get”.

Our Grandad loved many things, from his motorbikes, his food, sport & gardening, his family but more than anything his lovely wife and our wonderful Gran- 56 years of happy married life just goes to show that ❤️

Grandad taught us grandchildren to be strong, how to laugh at ourselves, he taught us to have integrity and he taught us to love each other. I know he was proud of all of us but I think I can safely say we are the proud ones- he was our greatest role model & our hero- we will always be so very proud to call him our Grandad

Your hugs and smiles would always fix everything.
In the winter I'll miss pulling on the drive; when you heard the car door shut you would jump up from your armchair beaming.
Then in the Summer I knew without fail I would find you up the garden!
I'll miss listening to you play guitar and sing; you were so content with your world at Swiss Ave.
Bethy xx
