God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”

Hello, I worked with Alan at the University of Nottingham and also Bell Fruit Manufacturing. I have fond memories of Alan. We shared the same humour, I respected him as a colleague and mentor. So sad to hear of his passing, much love to Mary and Family. Peter x

My Hero

You held my hand when I was small
You caught me when I fell
You’re the hero of my childhood
And my later years as well

And every time I think of you
My heart still fills with pride
Though I’ll always miss you Dad
I know you’re by my side

In laughter and in sorrow
In sunshine and through rain
I know you’re watching over me
Until we meet again
