In loving memory of Alec James Allen who sadly passed away on 16th January 2021 aged 97 years.

A funeral service will be held on the 18th February 2021 at St Mary's Church at Blidworth at 10:15 followed by another small service at Mansfield crematorium at 11:15.

Alec was born in Cardiff Wales in 1923 to James & Miriam Allen and was brother to Fredrick, Ronald, Betty, Valerie, Barbra & Pamela. Alec joined the war effort joining the Coldstream Guards at approximately 17 years of age. During his Army service and while being stationed for a short time in Nottingham he met his sweetheart Emily Butler who was a life long resident of Blidworth. They met at a dance hall near Mansfield and since that day they were inseparable. Emily and Alec where married in Southwell on the 16th June 1945 just before the end of WW11 then on the 28th Sept 1946 they had a Son, Robert Keith Allen. They lived up in the old village until moving into their life long home on Abbey Road in 1950. His beloved wife Emily sadly passed away in April 2018 after a short illness, Alec is now eternally reunited with his sweetheart and will be lovingly remembered by his family.

Any donations in will be gratefully received and given to the British Heart Foundation.

Due to Covid restrictions attendance to the funeral will be limited to a maximum of 30, but please get it touch if you would like to attend.

RIP Alec. I don't think I ever met you, but I am your great niece (Ronald's grand daughter). My grandad loved talking to you on the phone every day and will be happy to see you again in the stars.
