In loving memory of Anne Snape who sadly passed away on 19th January 2021, aged 68.
Anne was born to Kathleen and Bill Cunningham in December 1952. After leaving school in Wigan, Anne studied Russian at the University of Leeds and graduated in 1974. She then moved to Cheltenham to work for Government Communications Headquarters pursuing her interest in languages.
Anne met her husband, Colin in Cheltenham and they married in May 1976. During Anne’s marriage, they lived in Cheltenham until 1987 before moving to Paisley, Scotland and then to Nottingham.
Anne is survived by her husband, Colin, two children Andrew and Lucy and two grandchildren, Maya and Travis.
Anne was a devoted wife and mother. Anne enjoyed walking her golden retrievers, the late Barney and Reggie and taking holidays by the sea. Anne’s hobbies also included reading, languages, knitting and line dancing actively participating in local groups and making many friends along the way.
Anne lived her last 4 years with dementia, never losing her keen sense of humour and love of walking.
Anne will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her and will remain in their hearts forever.

I met Anne at work back in 1978 and we got on really well from the start. I hated the job but she loved it and was very good at it. Her often wicked sense of humour and infectious giggle kept me going during those dark days when I was often so miserable I had to go to the loo and have a little cry. She was the one who could lift my spirits and make me cry with laughter.

I was very sad when the family left Cheltenham for Paisley but we did manage to visit and, like all great friendships, when we did see each other or chatted over the phone it felt as if she had never gone away.

I will always remember Anne with great affection and will never forget that giggle.

To Mum, I am proud to have been your daughter and will miss you forever. Rest in Peace, Lucy xxx

To the moment that you died,
my heart was torn in two,
one side filled with heartache,
the other died with you.

I often lie awake at night,
when the world is fast asleep and
take a walk down memory lane,
with tears upon my cheeks.

Remembering you is easy, I do it every day,
but missing you is heartache that never goes away.

I hold you tightly within my hear and there you will remain.
Until the joyous day arrives, that we will meet again
