In loving memory of John Henry Charles Stopher who sadly passed away on 19th January 2021

Les & Kathy Falle wrote

It was with great sadness we heard of John's death. We will always remember many years of friendship and the early days when Les first met John - in particular John's excitement and the fun they had when he first got his big Ludwig kit. The lunches and coffees when he came to Jersey to see his mother are another fond memory. We send our love and condolences to Karen, Joanna, Andy and the family, he will be sadly missed x x

  • John kept complaining he was flipping cold and hurry up the photo shoot! Lol. Not like him to complain!

I had the immense pleasure of playing guitar along with John for 20 years in Tightrope . He was an amazing drummer and loved his drum solos. The banter within the band was second to none and I will treasure every moment and every gig. On a personal level John was a great person to know and loved his sence of humour. John will be greatly missed and I would like to send my condolences to Karen and Joanne.

I found it hard to take it in when I heard the news that John had died. I spent a lot of time playing with him in bands over the years - The Presidents, Guardian Angels, The Scoobies Band and a couple of other projects. I will miss John's playing - a great drummer - and also his sense of humour which was second to none. He was a lovely guy. I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend on the day but my thoughts are with Karen, Joanna and the family. RIP John. Chris Price

I will never forget your energy and talent in those bands we played in from 1977 to 1981. But more importantly I will never forget your friendship for a much longer period. For some reason I can hear the first bars of Moby Dick. RIP my friend.
