OUR MUM ?

Our mum was the kindest person ever . Not only with her things, you could take anything she owned ( apart from her brandy ) and she wouldn't bat an eyelid , but mum was also generous with her time . She made time for everyone ,and made friends wherever she went . Mum would help anyone if they were in trouble or in need of a helping hand .She welcomed every friend we had into her home , and trust me some of these were a bit dodgy - especially Tony's ! our friends were her friends .
Someone recently said to me that she was the one person in our family who made her feel the most welcome , that one simple sentence said it all really .
Mum loved a full house and everyone round her , family and friends alike. Some of our early memories are of us excitedly waiting on New Year's Eve for a whole load of people to arrive back from the Coleen bawn down the blue in Bermondsey for an after party round ours on the manor estate . My mum cutting sandwiches and my dad handing out drinks . Happy memories that carried on throughout our lives . Mum and dads homes both in Bermondsey and new eltham were welcoming happy places ,where people popped in socially at any time and food and drinks were produced like magic . we won't elaborate on her tipsy stumble into the dogs bowl after one too many brandys ( her nickname was Brandy Bassom) after one of our parties. Mum loved eating out, something we have all done from a very early age , she ate like a bird usually wanting 2 starters washed down with a gallon of wine. The food wasn't the important part , the company definitely was.
Mum loved our family holidays in Lindos where she could make her way through the 50 odd friends and family for a chat . She loved having us all together .
Mum and dad have a 4 bedroom house for a good reason , the kids all love staying there, mum had lovely taste and her house was always cosy ,warm and inviting .They got spoilt by mum , bacon sarnies in the morning , takeaways in the evening , mum flicking through the TV channels to find a film she hadn't seen , she never sat still long enough to watch the whole thing anyway ? Good times that we thought would never end .

Mum loved Christmas and started nagging everyone about what they wanted months in advance , the house was always full of lights inside and out , dad spent half of December up a ladder putting them up . Christmas Day at mums was always magical with everyone together , mountains of presents with mum in the middle of it all , laughter and happiness . What will we do without you organising us .

Mums wardrobe is the stuff of legends ,packed with sparkle, bling , fur and shoes.with her elegant style and glamorous outfits, she always looked beautiful , and us girls have raided her wardrobe on more than one occasion .
Mums reasoning for having so many clothes is that when she was young and didn't have a pot to piss in ( her words ) she used to have one dress washed every night and wore my dads pants . We used to pretend to get the violins out and get told we didn't know how lucky we are !
She certainly made up for those hard times.
She loved us all we knew that , the boys will miss their nan chasing them for what she called a huggle buggle .
Dad reckons he's way down her pecking order after us, the grandchildren, karis , the dog and her house . Not true dad , you were a double act for almost 60 years and she loved you more than you will probably ever realise. You were her constant, steady sometimes a bit too laid back rock, giving mum the lovely life she deserved and enjoyed .

We all love you mum and we will miss you forever .

I have shared so many great memories with my amazing nan, she is a one of a kind who is loved by everyone. One thing is for certain she definitely passed on her love of shopping, sparkle and leopard print to me.

My life is never going to be the same again and I will miss you every day until we meet again, Nan. I know you are always with us but it's just not the same and I would give anything to have you back here with us, back to your old self.
Love you and miss you

It's hard to imagine coming round to your house every weekend and half term and any free time I had off school and you not being there. I would tell you I was coming down to play golf but most days I would end up sitting with you watching deal or no deal and then every soap possible from around 5 until 8 (we had our own little routine) and then we would sit and watch random movies most of which you would say you have seen before and then wait for grandad to come in and pester him about going golf in the morning! You would always back me up aswell, going to miss you nanny jean, you was a perfect nan.You will be in my heart forever and always?? RIP ??

My perfect mum , missing you every day , don't think I'll ever get used to you not being around hurrying us all up ( especially me and dad ) or leaving me a voice mail every day ( always exactly the same ) . Getting everyone together , eating out and meetings at yours . Organising , writing a list for everything and quietly getting your own way !
The gentlest nan , Charlottes role model ,Joes fiercest ally and Ronnies biggest fan , they adored you as you adored them .
We have lost the heart of us , but we promise we will carry on and look after Dad and keep each other going . Love you mum xxxxxxx

Feel so very honoured to have met this beautiful, brave, strong and inspirational woman. I knew Jean less than a year but her beautiful heart was so welcoming and kind that I feel as if I have been part of her family for so much longer. After being introduced last July, I've spent many weekends with this wonderful lady and had so many funny and memorable moments and I can say Nanny Jeanie is one I will never forget. Rest is perfect peace Jeanie, I will miss you so dearly like so many others xxxxxxxxxx
