In loving memory of Ian Stuart Collier, who sadly passed away on 11th January 2021 at the Belmont Castle Care Home. The carers were superb to the end for Ian and all our family.

Ian was a caring, kind, compassionate, fun loving, entertaining, great guy, husband, Dad, pop and friend.
He lived his life to the full and always saw the funny side of life, no matter what.

His passions were football (especially his beloved Pompey) all sport and 60's and 70's classic music.
He enjoyed his "slithers" (as he would say) of Southern Comfort whiskey and never said no to a beer, especially within a good pub with family or friends. Or even better, if he was on holiday. Sgt Bilko on tv always made him laugh and we always laughed with him when ever we watched it together.

He loved all his family, his son Heath and his daughter Sharon and we loved him in return. He also loved his friends who were truly dear to him and there has been numerous, unforgettable memories created with them, including dear friends in Australia.

He enjoyed 55 years of marriage to his devoted wife Dawn, and he doted on his 3 grandchildren, Clare George and Oscar. He was a person who gave everyone time, no matter what background they were from and could talk to anyone comfortably.

He always had a funny story, said things exactly like he saw it and that was typical dad. He was a legend and enriched the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

He was also the best dad, a son and daughter could ever wish for. He'll live forever in our hearts. Rest in peace and know that you are loved, husband, dad, pop and friend. Until we meet again. Xx

I worked with Ian at Panache for only a brief time, but he was one of those people I could never forget. He made the job, but particularly sales meetings easier to bear, due to his humour and understanding nature. The fact that our time together was over 30 years ago and I still think about him speaks volumes for his character. I’m pleased I found FuneralGuide to express these feelings. Cheers Ian RIP.

Only in the last couple weeks have I truly realised how lucky I am to have had Pop in my life. Growing up with him around I have such happy memories of holidays, watching Pompey, Christmas, beautiful meals, being driven around in the Land Rover (then him letting me drive the Land Rover years later) and so many more.
Not only did he make me happy but he made me want to be better at everything I did. From committing to memory the weekend scores, who scored, what time and the football teams’ nicknames just in case he would quiz me, to his encouragement and pride when I would tell him anything exam or job related.
He taught me to appreciate the little things in life; be it a new kitchen utensil or gadget he bought off the TV (he would think it was the best thing ever and would use it every day that week), to simply sitting around watching football after a Sunday roast or better yet eating an entire packet of wine gums.
Pop inspired me in so many ways. The ability to talk to anyone, storytelling which would bring joy to everyone who listened and his pride in everything he did (his career, supporting Pompey and spending time with his family). I’ll never forget him, his attitude to life or the times we had together. Rest in peace pop 💙

I know for a fact that Pop's ultimate wish is for all his 3 adorable grandkids live life to the full and be happy. So try your best to honour Pop's memory by doing just that. Love Uncle Heath. X

My wonderful, wonderful Pop. There's nothing you wouldn't do for any one of your family, least not your grandchildren. I will never forget the feeling of love and pride you always made sure I knew you had for me anytime I saw you - I still feel it today, and I know I always will. I feel so lucky to have had such a kind, loving, generous, interested, caring, entertaining and fun loving (I could go on) Pop to grow up around. And I know you felt lucky to have me too! Least not when I was born as buyers swooned when directly after showing them your latest range you whacked out a picture of your new baby granddaughter! "You helped me secure some huge sales numbers" he would tell me. You inspired me to no end. I have an endless number of thank yous that I'm glad I got to say in person before you left us... but for the record here too, thank you for making me a junior blue before I was 12 hours old. And thank you for EVERYTHING you ever did for me. I wouldn't be the woman I am today if it wasn't for you, your love, support and pride. I will remember you always and strive to bring people as much joy as you always did! The world was a brighter place with you in it, but you shine on in your family and all your many friends who remember you. Rest in peace now. All my love,
Clare xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I can remember when I was small you testing me on all the nicknames of the football league clubs from all 4 divisions. Also the name of each ground that they played at. So I learnt all the nicknames and grounds before I even learnt the alphabet or times table. I will never forget you pop. Thanks for being the best pop. Love Oscar.

I'll always remember Ian for his kindness , generosity and humour. Growing up as Heaths best mate I was fortunate enough to be welcomed into Ian and Dawns home. Happy memories of time spent watching football or Bilko and being included in family outings such as camping in the New Forest. He may be gone but his memory will live on.

Ian was a true character who had many a story to tell. The type of guy that you could happily spend hours down the pub with enjoying his company.
A true legend who was very much "Old School" in every sense.
You will be greatly missed.

Ian Collier was my friend for many years. He was a man who had a appetite for life and embraced everything with his unique sense of enthusiasm. He was fun to be with, witty and sincere.
His presence was sure to lift any gathering and the day seemed brighter because of him. The world will be dimmer without him.
I miss him and will always remember him.

From good neighbours to great friends that's what Ian and Dawn were. Ian was a funny guy had us laughing a lot with his jokes and cheeky smile, especially when we played cards. There is so much one can write about Ian, it would fill a book, but we cannot. We were glad that we came over in 2019 and stayed with Ian and Dawn in glastonbury, he was still making us smile then even with Alzheimer's . We say rest in peace dear friend and to Dawn and family our thoughts and lots of love are with you. With lots of love. Pat and Mike xx

There was zero chance of these two lads George and Oscar supporting any other team. Pop gave them a life sentence in supporting Pompey.
