In loving memory of Philip Thomas Hulme who sadly passed away on 21st December 2020

Phil sadly passed away after a fall in early December and a short illness.

He will be sadly missed by his partner Anne, his children Sharon and Andrew, Anne’s sons Tony and Allan and his cherished grandchildren who brought him so much joy , Grace and Evan, Maisie and Molly, Lucy and Christopher, Kyle, Dan and Katie. He also recently got to meet Anne’s new great grandchild Robyn.

He also leaves behind his older Brother and Sister Pat and Stan, and younger Brother and Best friend Cliff.

Echoing my sister, Jackie’s, words, I too have wonderful memories of Phil, (and Cliff) being our ‘big brothers’ during the time we all lived in Brookfield Avenue. I was always impressed by Phil’s artistry, intelligence, kindness - and wicked sense of humour. He taught me a great deal about many things - including how to go looking for a gas leak with a naked flame (!) - but most especially, how to just be ‘nice’ to people. I never saw him angry, or heard him say a bad word about anyone. In my memory, he will always be the kind, gentle, funny, young man who joined our family and stayed for many happy years. Though I saw little of him in recent times, I never that felt the bond that grew between us was ever in danger of withering and I am only sorry I never got to say goodbye. I am deeply saddened by his passing, and send my deepest condolences and respects to all his family. A sad, sad loss in this tragic time.

Such sad news to hear of Phils passing. He was for a long time my 'other' older brother..He came into my life when I was four when he moved into my mums house as a lodger and eventually became my brother in law! He was a lovely, funny, caring, patient, laid back and very clever man and brilliant artist! He taught me so many things...how to ride a bike, how to knit, how to play chess and he'd help me with my homework and encourage me with my artwork. He was also a great listener, when I was in trouble he always stood up for me and showed me support..I'm very proud to say he made a great impact on my early life. We'd not seen each other for a while but it still saddened me to hear he's gone. Thankyou Phil for everything you taught me and lots of very happy memories. God bless and rest in peace..All my love Jackie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
