Nan Kemp, passed away peacefully on 22 December 2020 aged 93 years old.

Nan, was born in Treherbert, South Wales to Evan John Jones and Margaretta Jones. Nan had two sisters, Eirwenn and Gwyneth.

Nan left her village to train as a nurse in London in 1943, something she was incredibly proud of. Nan went on to train as a midwife in Bristol and then back to London to train as a health visitor, responsible for training students. Nan's life was one of services to others and a friend to all who needed her. Nan worked in Hockley from the 1960's to her retirement in 1987. It was there she served the needs of young mothers and their babies who she loved dearly. Although Nan had been retired for a long time, she will be missed and remembered in Hockley by all the families she served during her working years.

Mother to Paul and Grandmother to Danielle and Christopher. Nan adored her grandchildren, as they did her. Nan married Herbert 'Bert' Kemp in July 1979 and was happily married until he passed in 1995.

Nan was such a people person, full of fun and vitality. She was someone who lived as she was with humour, humanity and loving kindness. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.
