In loving memory of Christopher Paul Mines who passed away peacefully at home with Ian, Kate and Ros beside him, on 21st December 2020, aged 74 years.

What can we say about the man we were lucky enough to call Dad? He, along with our beloved Mum, taught us about family and how it is the most important thing. He made us feel secure and loved and always supported. He taught us about honesty and integrity and also fairness. He fixed things both practical and emotional and set the standard for us to aspire to as parents and people.

If you were someone he counted as a friend you will know that his humour, loyalty and humanity made him a person that you wanted to be around and have in your corner, he would never let you down.

Adored as Nampy by his grandchildren Gwen, Sam, Izzy, Wilf and Josh, he was fun and silly and wonderful with them all. Building them dens, playgrounds and even cars and being there for everything. Birthdays, school plays, football games, holidays, bedtime stories, rattly bag and cuddles, so many cuddles.

We would love to hear your stories and memories of him, so please feel free to write your message on this page and also to browse the pictures.

Dad's funeral will take place on Thursday 7th January 2021 at 2:45pm. Due to current circumstances, numbers at the crematorium are restricted. In light of this, Chris's service will be streamed live should you wish to join us. Please copy and paste the following link into your web browser and use the login details provided:

The world is a poorer place without Chris.

As a near neighbour I always found Chris to be very kind and helpful, he did many little jobs for me always ready with tools in hand for the said job and always a smile on his face. We also had many conversations about sport which he was always amazed about! ,as he didn't realise that women new about sport. He was also a brilliant cake maker I went in one Christmas to discover that he had made 11 Christmas cakes to distribute amongst the family. Gingernut biscuits were also a priority which he made for his grandchildren as one of them had a food intolerance but could eat Chris's Biscuits!!.
He was an exceedingly kind and generous man who will be missed by all who new him.

I will remember Chris as a good friend, always having time for anyone and words of advice, and also as a devoted grandfather, where nothing ever seemed to be to much trouble for him.
When the VAT & Fiddle reopens, will go and raise a pint to him
