Ooooo Matron so sorry you've left us. Fond memories of chats and tea in your office when I worked in the London Rd office. Your patience and good humour in the face of many challenges was inspiring and Pat was never too busy to offer a listening ear. One of the ressies called me the Pope one day and that name stuck with me so Pat tomorrow this Pope will be praying for you and I'm sure if he'd known you the real one would be praying too!

An absolute privilege to have known you and worked alongside you and to have been able to count you as a friend. Thank you for your wisdom and guidance in my early Abbeyfield days. I shall never forget those precious times we spent sitting in the sunshine in your lovely garden, whilst sharing our mutual appreciation of so many things.
May God bless and keep you always.

My lovely Pat.
You know of course we will always be in one another's hearts. There is never a day pass when I do not think of you and the wonderful times we had together. Some of the happiest days of my life have been when I have been in your company and I will never forget them. Our quiet admiration for each other cannot be taken away x.
Catch you on the other side my darling.

Love Col.

Folks, I don’t usually ‘do’ internetty things but just watching this stream of posts I had to pop up and say thank you, alongside Sally’s comments. The donations to research and cure Lupus are appreciated. I know mum found the condition perplexing and frustrating.

  • Mum laughed until she cried telling me about you lowering cake (I think?) over the hedge during lockdown. A fabulous memory xxx

Always thinking of my wickedly funny, eternally loving, and absolutely superb nan. Some of my best times have been spent laughing with her (often in her lovely garden, which always seemed to be sunny!!) and spending time together. Love forever xx
