Jonathan Marshall Hayward
(Master builder of Clayworth and surrounding areas)

Jonathan passed away peacefully after a short illness on 8th December 2020 aged 77 years.

A much-loved husband of the late Mary and in recent years a dearly loved best friend and partner of Catherine.
Jonathan was a total ‘one-off’ character, respected, admired and loved by his workmates and his many, many friends.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday 24th December 2020 at Babworth Crematorium at 11am.
Family flowers only please, donations may be made in Jonathan’s memory for the work of the Mayflower Animal Sanctuary.

Please note, due to current government restrictions, attending the service can unfortunately only be by invitation and there are many people who should be present that are unable to come. We are so sorry about this as we know so many would wish to come along. When we are able, we will arrange a farewell for the many people that Jonathan was so fond of and who had been such a big part of his life.

If you would like to follow Jonathan’s funeral service online live as it takes place, please go to www.obitus.com and insert the log in details below;

We are all shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Jonathan. A stand up man, a real character, a wonderful sense of humour (albeit it very dry). Jonathan was loved by all at this agency and respected by not just the staff but all of the Tenants he took pride in helping throughout his 10 years with this Agency. He will be sorely missed by us all and will be remembered best for his green overalls and visits to this office to put the world to rights. RIP Jonathan and our love and support goes out to all his families and friends.

Words can not express how much you ment to me and my family. It has been such a pleasure to have known you and to see your smiling face on a Wednesday, my weeks will never be the same without our little chats and your fantastic advice. You were taken so suddenly from us all and will be missed by so many. Rest in peace my love.
Love always Angie, Andy and family xxxx

  • Would this man be the same John Hayward who lived in Dronfield Woodhouse at the old Talbot pub run by his parents in the 50s does he have a brother also called Marshall.?

  • Yes that’s right Philip though we haven’t been able to find Marshall.

Shocked & saddened by this tragic news. Always had a smile on his face, never one to panic in a crises. I am sure St. Peter will be waiting - with a trowel in one hand & a pint of bitter in tuther.
Deeply missed
RIP Jonathan

Greatly missed, had so many laughs working with John over last few years, an old fashioned straight talking bloke.
