A couple of Memories of Betty; She and Den took me in to your family as if I had always been there. 34 years ago, I had my first Christmas dinner at that long - long table (well, probably many tables), which ran the full length of the through lounge. We had many laughs in that front room and I always felt very comfortable there.

I also remember a stark warning from Steve "You'll know when you've been Betty'd". She really was a lovely lady, always with a smile and hugs a plenty. Whilst it is a sad day and she will be very much missed, we are all the richer for having had the opportunity to have known her. Much love and deepest sympathy to all the Akers family.

Betty you will always be remembered as fantastic mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Full of life, fun and a strong determined woman. You will certainly be missed but, your memory and legacy will live on in the love and strength you instilled in all of your family and friends.

My darling other mother Mrs A. You inspired me, made me laugh, terrified me but loved me. You and your love Mr A raised an amazing family and you should be proud of your legacy. I will miss you forever and in particular my mince pies. Now party with your man like you have never partied before. Xxxxxx
