Susan Avery wrote

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Joan. She was such a lovely, kind lady who always made me feel very welcome when ever I went round her house.
My heart felt condolences and deepest sympathy goes to Bernard, John, Teresa, Nigel and the grand children and great grand children. I know Joan was much loved by her family and she will be greatly missed by all of them. Joan will never be forgotten and will forever stay in our hearts. ❤️ xxxx

In loving memory of dear auntie Joan who will be sadly missed. I have fond childhood memories of being at their home in Longfield with John and Nigel, going to many cricket matches and lovely holidays with our families together. Auntie Joan was a wonderful dressmaker who was never too busy to offer her help with any sewing needs. Rest in peace dear auntie Joan, always lovingly remembered.

In loving memory of our beautiful Nanna, what a wonderful lady she was. Caring, Funny, strong and always so busy! I have so many amazing memories, as a child visiting Longfield, and countless memories of when she visited us in Australia with Poppa. Nanna will live on in our hearts always. Rest peacefully now beautiful Nanna. All our love, Granddaughter Emily, Ian and Hugo xxxx

Many happy memories of Joan, from when 5 Essex Road was like a second home during my schooldays with John, through all her unceasing support for the first junior football team in Longfield in the 1970s, to lovely days out watching Kent in the Sunday League. Much love to Bernard, John and Nigel and all her grandchildren.

A beautiful lady who I had the honour of caring for these last two years. Joan and Bernard opened up their hearts to me and I to them. I’m truly blessed to have known Joan and my heart aches for her and her family. God Bless 💖
