You are sadly missed by all. It didn’t matter how long since I had seen you David but you always gave me a warm welcome with a smile that was infectious. You and your family were a huge part of my childhood including being a server at church. Though you are gone too soon, you are now reunited with Beth in a beautiful place.
Elaine and Sarah you are in my thoughts and prayers particularly at this difficult time of year xx

So today, far too soon, we are saying goodbye, until we meet again to an amazing man who I called Uncle David. Uncle David has been in my life since before my 3rd birthday and has always been there as part of our extended family. Having been lucky enough to holiday with him every year as Sarah's plus 1 we had some fantastic fun times exploring different places. One memory that sticks in my mind was that Uncle David came to rescue us after Sarah and I fell out(well I stood up and it capsized!) of a pond boat and got absolutely soaked ~ without a second thought, he tore up his decorating sheet so that Sarah and I could wear a nappy style outfit, but at least we weren't sat in wet knickers ! So many more fantastic memories that I can cherish ~ but the most wonderful memory about Uncle David will always be his smile, his belly laughs and his hugs that made you feel the love and protection that he offered. Good night and god bless to an outstanding man, my friend, Thank you for being you 🙏 ❤ xxx

  • It is because of both our dad’s friendship that you and I met when we were young children and a friendship grew into what we have considered to be more like family to each other. Something I will be forever thankful to dad and Colin for. And yes I still have the photos Leah of nappygate!!

I feel so proud of David, he overcame his deafness to lead a full, useful and happy life.
I remember when his disability was discovered as a small child, and how heart broken his parents were.
Sorry I can't be with the family today, I will be watching David's service online.
David, may you rest in peace with Beth.
Love Auntie Rosemary

You were so warm and gentle and you never failed to make everyone smile with your silly humour. We will miss you down here, but it’s time to ready easy up there with Beth. RIP x
