In loving memory of the late Janusz Kowal who fell asleep on 29th May 2015, with his daughters beside him. Dearly loved husband of the late Hilda, cherished Daddy of Kathleen and Carol, adored granddad of Louisa, Andrew and Steven and held in the highest esteem by sons in law David and Barry.
Janusz was a deeply devout Roman Catholic and ardently patriotic Pole.

I was very sorry to read about Jan's death. Unfortunately I did not see the notice in the paper until after the funeral. I worked with Jan, he as a Design Engineer and I as a Commercial Engineer, at GEC for several years and we went on a few business trips together. We got on well and I remember in particular his wicked dry sense of humour, including giving nicknames, not always flattering, to some of his fellow engineers. I know from what he told me that he had a rough time of it in World War II when he was still in Poland. I believe he became a pilot when he came to England but I don't know how much action he saw. RIP Janusz.
