In loving memory of Peter Young who sadly passed away at Queen's Hospital, Burton on 23rd September 2020 aged 85 years.
Born in Stafford in 1935, a twin to Michael, Peter was the beloved husband of Marian for 58 years, a loving father and best friend to his four sons and a much loved grandad to his twelve grandchildren.
Known for his appreciation of jazz and classical music and also his warm sense of humour, he was a gentle man with quiet strength and a cherished member of St Mary's Church family in Stretton. He was blessed with a wonderful life and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.
There will be a private, family service for Peter at Bretby Crematorium, Tuesday 20th October 2020 - 1.30 pm.
Those wishing to join the celebration of his life can do so via a livestream online.
Donations in memory of Peter are preferred, in lieu of flowers, to Christians Against Poverty (CAP), a charity Peter supported for many years. Donations can be made via this obituary or sent c/o Murray's Funeral Directors, 23 York Street, Burton DE14 2LX. Tel: 01283 562299.
