I first met Pete in 2008, in Brighton, for a Bonnie Prince Billy show
I had been aware for some time via the arise list of his "legendary" taper status, and it was him who inspired and encouraged me to tape shows. He was to be inspirational and supportive in many other ways.
Regular hook ups took place, pre show drinks & chats, Baby Dee, Current 93, Six Organs, Trembling Bells, Ali Roberts amongst them. In 2010 Pete seeded the idea of doing the whole bpb/bells 8 show tour of Ireland & UK .
That road trip was a highlight of my life & spending that time with him was so rewarding. Pete was warm, funny, highly intelligent, an exceptional raconteur. His charming, infectious personality made him an all round pleasure to be with. In the following years meet ups sadly became rarer, but receiving a package in the post of his wonderful poetry zine & frightening mixtapes was a treasured connection.
Seeing him at several shows in recent years with Carrie, was a joy to behold. Their special bond was clear and heart warming to see. Pete has left us far too soon, he was a one off. Love and condolences to his family and loved ones.

Pete came to BowHaven in 2014 and was a valued, long-time member of the charity. He ran a therapeutic group ‘Cool to Believe’ which is a group that helps members deal with feelings of paranoia and distressing beliefs. Pete helped many members in that group and was always patient and encouraging of the situations people found themselves in. He also used his IT skills to help the charity whenever he was asked to.

He was very committed to helping people and also to raise mental health awareness with mental health professionals. Pete joined the BowHaven Trustee Board in 2017 and always raised pertinent insight to issues involving members. We were all very upset to hear of his diagnosis and all that he went through. We were really sorry to hear that he lost his battle with cancer.

Our most sincere condolences and prayers are with Pete and his loved ones at this very difficult time.

From all the members, staff and trustees at BowHaven
