In loving memory of John Michael Okroj who sadly passed away on 27th September 2020

Have only just read of John's passing. I joined the Police in 1981 as a Police Cadet and was posted to Hucknall. John was my tutor. keith Spink and the late Jed Walker worked alongside John. True character and great mentor. Many happy memories of John and I on patrol together...and not forgetting the odd visit to the Bestwood Hotel for 'licence' checks?? Thought's go to his family.

Thinking of Carol, Richard, Louise and families, I was so saddened yesterday when I heard the very sad News of the death of John. I haven't seen him for a few years but I have many happy and fond memories of such a lovely, kind, caring and family man. I first met John in 1984 when I worked along side him. He told many stories and stared his experience and knowledge of the job he loved.

He was a very good mentor and work colleagues, he was hard working, thorough and dedicated to his profession. He will be sadly missed I'm sure, by so many people that had the opportunity and pleasure to work along side him. He was a true gentleman. It's so sad that due to COVID that many people won't be able to join his family to say goodbye. I'm sure many will be thinking of him and his family. Sending all his family lots of love at this very sad and emotional time.

Dawn, Gary and Family xxx
