Brendan and I went to Boolavogue school in County Wexford to gether ,we were always pals 'I was frequently in his house in Dranagh. When he came over to Nottingham I followed him and I stayed with him until I joined the Grenadier Guards in 1960. Of course afterwards we didn'n see that much of each other, then in the 70's we met up often but after I returned to live in Ireland we sadly lost touch, too late now but I wish I had made more effort.Theres nothing negative I could say about Brendan he was a mighty man in every respect.I will always remember him.

In loving memory of our wonderful friend Brian. You were an amazing person and you will never ever be forgotten.

Brian, you were so kind and your friendship meant the world to us - you opened your heart and your home to us and of course your friend Alfie, who you always spoilt rotten and who showered you with lots of love in return. He loved going squirrel spotting in the woods with you and helping you to eat your lunch when you used to look after him for us.
I'll miss our weekly phone calls, visiting and staying with you in Nottingham and all of your positivity and encouragement. You always looked after us all and Ross used to love your legendary breakfasts and chats about the football scores at the end of every week. We love you so much Brian, you were and always will be so much more than just a friend, you made us feel like family and for that we will always be grateful.

I saw this quote recently and it makes me think of you:

"Mum, why do the best people die so soon?
When you're in a garden, which flowers do you pick first?
The most beautiful ones."

You are a beautiful person Brian, RIP our dear, special friend.

Rach, Ross and Alfie xxxxxxx

Brian,

I know that you will be sorely missed by all the family and community that you surrounded yourself with and made such a difference to.

And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?"-Kahllil Gibran
