Sadly Sylvia passed away on the 17th September 2020 at her home in Wimborne, she will be deeply missed by all her family.

Great Ormond Street was a charity close to Sylvia's heart.

On the 5th March 1990, Sylvia’s grandchild, Zoe, passed soon after birth due to Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome and complications during birth.

Sylvia supported GOSH for their work with children and especially prenatal and foetal medicine. The Charity have a passion and commitment to support paediatric research.

Sylvia also supported many grieving families with infant deaths through her work in Bournemouth Hospital in Patient Affairs and as a CRUSE Bereavement Counsellor.

I am the sister in law from Antipodes. The first time Keith took me home to meet his sisters, mother and families, Sylvia was very welcoming as was the rest of the family.
On the many occasions over the years we visited it was if I was going home too.
Absolutely loved her baked dinner, Yorkshire puddings to die for.
There were times when Sylvia would be concerned about me being cold and up would go the heating!!!
One night in the middle of winter, snowing outside, we had to open a window!!
Sylvia was kind, generous and caring always putting others before herself.

Dearest Sylvia,
We feel very sad that you have passed away and yet very happy that you are with David now and forever. Your kindness and your lovely smile will be greatly missed. I share very special memories with you and David in High Ridge and in Spain where you shared your holidays with us so many times. You were always available for us and very supporting during difficult times.
With my love to you and David. Mariellex

Remembering Sylvia with much affection for the way she supported bereaved families and funeral directors through her work at Bournemouth Hospital. Always a cheery word and so efficient in helping making the process as easy as possible. When you heard Sylvia answer the phone "patient affairs" you knew you were in safe caring hands.
All our love from Nicholas, Jackie, Anthony and Natalie O'Hara

I love you today as I did when we were young and although you are gone you will always be in my memories. You were always there as my sister through the good times and the bad. As you go to be with David may the Lord bless and keep you safe.
Your little sister Pat xx

Sylvia it was a very sad day last Thursday, when we had to say good bye. Having been together for 86 years apart from 2 short periods when you were in Tunbridge Wells and I went to the Midlands. We have always been very close and I will miss you but you are at peace now and that is a blessing for us all. You have gone to a happier place - your spiritual home.

A special Auntie who was always there for you. Some of my memories: taking me away on holiday to Spain, making me trousers that I needed so urgently, persuading my Dad I could have me ears pierced.
She was always there to welcome you into her home.
I will miss you, always.
