In celebration of the life of Major Raymond Wardley who was Promoted to Glory on the 21st August 2020 and went to be with our Lord and Saviour. Major Raymond Wardley, born in Sheffield on the 3rd of July 1929 worked as an officer within the Salvation Army serving most of his life in Africa. He served the Lord in Ghana for nine years, Zimbabwe for 7 years and Uganda for 5 years before returning to the UK as the Corps Officer (Church Leader) in Batley for 5 years and a further 5 years as the Corps Officer whilst in retirement in Shirebrook. Major Raymond Wardley was a loving husband, an awesome father, a wonderful grandad, a beautiful Christian and a true servant of God in every way. All donations, in memory of his life will be given to, The Salvation Army, Shirebrook Corps.
