It is with a heavy heart that we wish to announce the passing of Lynda Susan Thompson, formerly Cary. Lynda died peacefully on Thursday the 13th of August 2020,surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind her, her loving husband Ian and devoted sons Andrew and Daniel, her daughter in laws Nikki and Claire and their 6 wonderful grandchildren, Jess, Poppy, Rosie, Ollie, Emily and Laya.
If you ever had the pleasure to chat to Lynda you will know she loved a good natter, she would do anything for anyone and the world has lost a beautiful person that would readily put others feelings above her own.
Lynda loved her life travelling to far off destinations with Ian in their camper van but also loved the serenity of the countryside and was a true country girl at heart. Being born and raised on Whistley road in Potterne, the village was as much a part of her, as she was it and over the years she became a valued part of the Potterne community, giving her time to dining club and other such community based activities.
Her funeral will be taking place at the Semington Crematorium on Monday the 24th. We are so sad that this has to be a private occasion, there are so many people that would have wished to say goodbye. We have asked that the funeral cortege leaves Whistley rd at 11:15 am on the day and will drive through Whistley and down the Potterne high street, please join us there to say your final farewells to Lynda. We will be having a video link to the service should anyone, who cannot be there, wishes to view it online. As numbers are limited for this, can you please contact a member of the family so access can be granted.
The messages of condolences and the outpouring of sorrow for our loss has been quite overwhelming and we would like to say thank you to all those who have sent flowers, cards and messages of love to us all. We will be taking donations towards Dorothy House, Winsley, who offered the most dignified care we could have hoped for. Please either follow the link to the Just giving page or cheques can be sent to AP Mcdonald made out to Dorothy House.
The worlds loss is heavens gain now she has gone and her light and love will be carried around with us forever. She was loved by everyone her presence graced and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Rest in peace Lynda Thompson x
