In loving memory of Janet Kathleen Hall who sadly passed away on 8th August 2020
Janet was a devoted wife to Danny, mother to Chris and Steve and grandmother to Evie, Megan and Faith.
Janet had an active life whether it be holidays to places she’d never been, going on trips with sister Glenys with their shared interest in knitting and sewing or looking after the various grandchildren.
Janet’s sporting interests started out with Tennis with Glenys In the 60s before moving to squash with Danny in the 80s and eventually walking in her later years.
One of Janet’s quieter passions was her ability to read vast numbers of romantic novels over the years, her consumption was legendary and the advent of the Kindle just served to mask the scale.
Janet needed no excuses for a cafe meet or meal out and was no stranger to Marks and Spencer or Waitrose .
Janet’s working life took her from a clerical job with the council offices to various roles within Nottinghamshire Police - from working as an enquiry officer on the front desk to working in the Local Intelligence office before landing her last role as Police staff prior to retirement on the armed undercover unit. On there she got to drive some powerful cars which she loved.
Janet met soldier Danny at what was the Palais in Nottingham in 1968 - the venue of many a couple getting together in those days. Danny was suntanned after coming back from Hong Kong and must have looked exotic even for a Bulwell man. They were a good fit complimenting each other in many ways. Janet was a calming influence on the para and Danny had the travel bug from the military which they both came to share.
If you knew Janet you knew a kind and loving lady who could never do enough for you. Janet was always there when you needed her and devoted to her family.
